Description

A light sound of footsteps echoed through the room as the door closed. It had opened before as two wynglings had walked in from the night outside. The gray one, the taller of the two was looking forward, his eyes showing any sign of emotion, as the orange one walked beside him. In the orange one's beak was a flower, slightly shrived from being handled roughly.
The gray one looked down at the orange one. "Are you sure you want to do this, Kido?" He asked, his voice flat as he spoke.
Kido looked up at him, a spark of hope in his eyes. That spark radiated throughout him, giving him energy and confidence. He nodded. "I'm sure."
Letting go of all restraint, the gray one replied, his voice dropping an octave to a more serious tone. "Look. This isn't going to work."
"Azel. I have to try."
"She's hurt."
"Wounds can heal."
Azel sighed. "Not wounds to the heart."
"How would you know?" Kido snapped back. Though he found himself taking back his words almost instantly.
Azel didn't speak as he walked to the one part of the room and sat down, facing the window, his back towards Kido.

Slowly, Kido walked over to the blue wyngro that was sitting on the other side of the room. She was staring off, her eyes glazed over with pain. Kido walked up and stood there, waiting to be noticed, but the wyngro never seemed to be aware of his presence. He knew how she was, a wyngro named Tinsel. She had been injured by an accident a few days ago and had never talked since. She had only been outside to throw away the remains of a tree that used to be her childhood base. That's where Kido had gotten the flower in hopes of cheering her up. Setting the flower down on the floor, he spoke softly to her.
"Hey. I brought you something."
Tinsel slowly turned her head towards him but seemed to not see him. Though, as her eyes moved to the flower, the haze faded away.
"Why did you bring that....?" She asked, her faint voice trailing off.
Kido bowed down slightly into a playful stance and cocked his one ear. "I thought you'd want it."
She turned away. "Why would I want that."
"Because, It's full of memories."
"I don't want those memories.....It's gone."
Azel managed a somber smile. "All things go sometime. But it's what we remember of them that count."
Tinsel stared at the blank space in front of her, remembering something that was tucked into the back of her mind. Tears welled up in her eyes as her mouth curved up into a slight smile, the warmth of the memory coming back to her.

"Kid." She said to Kido. "How do you know so much about being hurt?"
"Well, I wasn't ever hurt myself but someone close to me was." He looked to Azel who was staring out the window at the night sky. "According to the others, Azel used to be happy and cheerful until one day he wandered off into the woods. He wasn't back for days and, when he returned, he was different. His smile had faded away and along with that went his cherry demeanor." He looked back at Tinsel. "I've been hoping he would get better..... That one day he'd return to how he was."
Tinsel sat there. "It's not going to happen. Some people just get hurt."
Kido shook his head. "Maybe you think so but I don't."
"Why?"
He smiled, his voice coming out pure as a bell. "Well, because I have hope."

So... After seeing :iconvoidsugar: 's drawing and what happened to Tinsel, I decided to draw the next part with Kido (because he's a little ball of hope ^-^ )
